Discovery Park in the Rain? Fun!

We walked to Daybreak Star and watched the rain make circles in the ponds, and it was great! At first, we were sad because it was cold and wet, but then we kept moving, and it made us feel a lot better. We decided the weather would not bring us down! Thank you Maya, Bella, and Mahalia for a great week!

Here's the last song!

It's a wet and rainy day outside
But we're still going to have fun at the park!
We're gonna see some outstanding ponds
We'll be exploring like Lewis and Clark!
We'll be watching for stinging nettles
We might run into some scary animals
It's a wet and rainy day outside
But we're still going to have fun at the park!

It's a wet and rainy day outside
And we're not having any fun at the park.
The swing is broken, everything else is wet
The clouds are so thick, it's really dark
But that's not gonna ruin our day
We sing out loud anyway
It's a wet and rainy day outside
But we're still going to have fun at the park!

When you're down in the dumps
Here's a way to pump you ups
Sing a loud jolly tune about silly things
Eat healthy food, and run around in rings
Something, something, something rhymes with rings
It's a wet and rainy day outside
But we're still going to have fun at the park!

The Posse goes to Bremerton

And then turns right around and comes back! We weren't sure about the weather today, so we decided to take the long ride to Bremerton and stay dry instead of going to Bainbridge Island and sitting in the rain. Then it got sunny, and we all wished we had made the other decision.

It was a bit of a downer, as our song reflects, but at least we had a good time being bored! And nobody can ever say Ebenezer doesn't write down what the kids want to say!

Here's our song!

Today was really boring
Nothing Happened
We didn't go in the Space Needle
Or up to the moon

We didn't go swimming
We didn't get ice cream
We didn't even go see
The weird creatures in the lagoon

All we did was hang around a stupid boat
We only saw one friend
And just a little of the Puget Sound
And walked around the stupid city
And went into a big fat building
And took the elevator to the 34th floor
And looked down

Today was so boring
Nothing happened
We didn't make windchimes
Or fly in an airplane
We didn't float up in the sky
Or get our own guitars
We only played a boring checkers game

We did do one thing fun
We pretended everything was made of food
We said people were French Fries
Buildings were hot dogs and hamburgers
And cars were little carrot dudes
Thank goodness for our imaginations
Without them, we would have cried

Boring Boring Boring
Nothing Happened, etc.

If your day is really boring
Here's what you should do
Pretend everything
Is made out of food
And write a song like this
Today was so boring
Nothing happened
We're in a boring type of mood.

Posse helps out at White Center Food Bank

We handed out food at the White Center Food Bank today, and there was a real feeling of welcomness and generosity from everybody. Thanks to everybody at the Food Bank, especially Cynthia and Rick for setting up our visit. I think the girls had a great time and felt good about their work! They were a little shy at first, but got comfortable after a few minutes. They noticed that the people getting the food were families and people just like you and me.

Here's the song!

There are many kinds of people
Some are white, some are black
They come from different cultures
Some are asian, some are hispanic
Some come from places with vultures

Some are tall, some are small
We helped give food to them all
We didn't know what to expect
But we think we earned their respect

We helped out, yeah, yeah, yeah
It felt good, yeah, yeah, yeah
Inside

We bet it felt good to them too
Because they got food
Now the kids can run and play with more energy
And their parents can save the day
And they won't be so hungry

We helped out, yeah, yeah, yeah
It felt good, yeah, yeah, yeah
Inside

There are many kinds of people
Some are white, some are black
They come from different cultures

Ebenezer's Posse at Northwest Harvest

We headed on back down to Pier 91 to see Bill and the rest of the crew at NW Harvest! It was great to see two huge bins of bags of soup ready for us to box up.

Mehalia, Bella, and Maya quickly figured out it was easier to load the boxes right from the bins instead of using the table to put the food on first. Efficiency experts!!

We ended up helping 340 families and packing up over 2000 pounds of soup!

Tomorrow we will go to White Center Food bank to see if any of our soup made it there!

Here's the song!

Give a helping hand to the world
All you have to do is think about what everyone needs
Everyone needs food to eat and water to drink
And money to buy those things

But most of all, we need love
love, love,
love is mostly what we need

You can help out and have fun too
All you have to do is volunteer almost anywhere
One place you can call is Northwest Harvest
They make sure that food makes it to the right address

They send it with love
love, love,
love is mostly what we need

Give a helping hand to the world
All you have to do is think about what everyone needs

You can help out and have fun too
All you have to do is volunteer almost anywhere

Spring Break Posse at Cranium's and the NE Library

Ebenezer's Posse is back in full force! Mahalia and I met Bella and Maya, told some stories, andheaded on down to Craniums for some hot chocolate and a rousing game of Sorry! which Maya just barely won. Everybody except Eb only needed one more card to be the winner, and Maya got hers first. After that, we took the Metro bus to the NE library, a charming newly renovated facility and checked out a bunch of books. Then it was back home to write and record the first song of the week! We're excited to be headed back to the Northwest Harvest Warehouse tomorrow to package some food to be sent out to food banks around the state!

Here's our first song!

Bookworms and Noodleheads

Bookworms and Noodleheads, that's who we are
Craniums and the Library
We're going there, but not in a car

Whistling like canaries, reading like crazy
We don't need to be at the library
In much of a hurry

Walking forever to get to the place
Where books give us a happy face

Noodleheads crazy think
Bookworms scientific think
We are both of these things
We are the link!

We got on the bus without a fuss
After Maya out Sorry!-ed us
Making new friends is easy at the library
Because we know that being together
Is better than being alone

Walking forever to get to the place
Where books give us a happy face

Noodleheads crazy think
Bookworms scientific think
We are both of these things
We are the link!
